A large, heavy cropping plum that is purple/black in colour and has sweet, yellowish flesh. Fruits appear around mid-september time with excellent flavour and have extended shelf life when fridge stored. Overall. ‘Guinevere’ is an excellent, self-fertile, disease-resistant dessert plum.

Pollination information: This pear belongs to pollination group 3, and is self-fertile, but can benefit from another pear in the same group nearby to increase yields.

Garden care:

When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly. Stone fruits like the plums should be pruned in the summer because they are prone to a disease called silver leaf which enters through cuts. If you prune in late summer, the sap is slowing but is still running fast enough to seal up any wounds. Check and remove any damaged, diseased or broken branches.
